Venus house placements & aspects to ascendant and Midheaven

Since I’ve done about thirty posts so far at this point — perhaps roughly half of these cover relocation astrology — I vacillate as to how much to repeat myself. For those of you who read this casually, and not comprehensively, you may be experiencing things — ideas, cautions, etc. — being left out. For example, when I did my post on Mercury house placements, I said:

Try not to relocate somewhere unless you’ve actually been to the place at least once. Try to observe yourself in the context of the interpretations that you should bring with you to the location. (That is what I did five years ago before moving here). Once your trip is over, reflect on the changes you saw and what’s in the interpretation for a while. Look at all the interpretations you can. You will find many of them in this blog as well as the sources they came from.

Venus house placements are all about lists. I use the lists for house placements primarily through The Round Art of Astrology (A.T. Mann, originally published as the Round Art: The Astrology of Time and Space), and Mapping Your Travels and Relocation. If you have another suggestion for lists like the one I’m about to post, feel free to share it in a comment or message.

The first description in each entry is Mapping Your Travels, the second is the Round Art. Venus is the planet that regulates the idea of beauty in our lives. It also lends itself to love matters, and abundance. It’s a benefic like Jupiter.

Venus in the 1st house:
With Venus in the relocated first house, you can add to your physical attractiveness or become more skilled at beauty in action or grace in motion (dancing, skating, gymnastics, tai chi, etc.). You may learn to like yourself better and feel more comfortable with yourself. Sensual pleasures are more important.

creative power, love adventures, love at first sight, flirtations; demonstrative, ardent, generous, warm-hearted, passionate, idealistic.
(Venus is in detriment in the 1st house.)

Venus in the 2nd house:
If you want to attract more from the material world, including money and possessions, Venus in the relocated second house can ease your way. You may generate income through beauty, relationships, or work you enjoy, and comfort is highlighted. You could meet someone special in a bank, where you earn money, or at an arts event.

physical beauty, personal attraction, need to be loved, good taste, luxury; affectionate, faithful, conservative, artistic, precious, grasping, indolent, materialistic.
(Venus is in rulership in the 2nd house.)

Venus in the 3rd house:
When Venus is in the relocated third house, intellectual pursuits bring pleasure, and you could more fully develop your diplomatic skills. But try not to fall into the trap of saying only what people want to hear. Relationships with siblings may become more loving, and you might meet a partner at a class, in the neighborhood, or through a relative.

charm, courtesy, sympathy, many loves, social sense; ingratiating, silly, flirtatious, superficial, attractive, flighty acommodating; adaptable, cooperative.

Venus in the 4th house:
With Venus in the relocated fourth house, you can beautify your home or make your domestic environment more comfortable, lovely, and sensually satisfying. Relationships with parents, children, and other family members may become more affectionate and stable. A domestic activity or relative could connect you with a potential partner.

love, devotion, love affairs, dependent relationships, family, the arts; affectionate, demonstrative, indulgent, exploited, romantic, imaginative, unselfish, dreamy.

Venus in the 5th house:
If you want more romance in your life, Venus in the relocated fifth house could help you find it. Love affairs could increase in this locale, where your artistic and creative skills may deepen, and love and caring are heightened. Pleasure may come through children and lovers, and you could meet someone at the theater, in the entertainment world, or through a child.

love relations, games, pleasure, amusement, quick contacts; hedonistic, vain, indulgent, squandering, free, generous, merry, vivacious.

Venus in the 6th house:
When Venus is in the relocated sixth house, you can enjoy your work more and be involved in tasks that bring you pleasure. You may develop handicraft skills and make things that are both beautiful and useful. Relationships take on a more practical tone. You might meet a partner at your workplace or through your work.

repressed feelings, moral sense, indecisive love; fastidious, pure, discriminative, quiet, restrained, dissatisfied, tasteful, decorous, polite.
(Venus is in fall in the 6th house.)

Venus in the 7th house:
With Venus in the relocated seventh house, you’re attracted to other people, and one-on-one interactions are apt to increase. Love may be on the horizon. Pleasure is sought and found through relationships, and shared pursuits are most gratifying. You could meet a partner through a friend, match making, or activities that involve beauty or art.

lively manner, love affairs, artistic skill, sociability, taste, scattered affections, infidelity, luxury, easy life; attractive, vain, foppish, amorous, cordial, high-living, frivolous.
(Venus is in rulership in the 7th house.)

Venus in the 8th house:
Venus in the relocated eighth house can help you use money to make money, be successful with investments, or find gratification in sexual pursuits, emotional encounters, or looking beneath the surface of life. You could meet someone special through therapy, investment activities, research, or while studying metaphysics.

strong attraction, fanatic lover, extremes of self-control and liscentiousness, legacies, intemperance, illness, squandered energy, withholds love, depravity; passionate, jealous.
(Venus is in detriment in the 8th house.)

Venus in the 9th house:
Travel, higher education, philosophy, religion, or activities that involve inspiration and looking for a higher truth are more gratifying when Venus is in the relocated ninth house. You might meet someone special in or from another country, in class, on the road, or when you’re seeking answers about the ultimate meaning of life.

romantic imagination, quickly-responding emotions, outdoor entertainments, many loves, scattered emotions, easily attracted; light-hearted, impressionable, popular, generous, literary, harmonious.

Venus in the 10th house:
When Venus is in the relocated tenth house, you can improve relationships with authority figures, get along better with the boss, or gain more gratification from your career. You may become more diplomatic and could encounter a romantic partner through professional activities, a mentor, or while managing a major project.

form sense, constancy, fidelity, self-control, older partner; social-climbing, materialistic, possessive, distrustful, cold, jealous, loyal, undemonstrative, inhibited, joyless.

Venus in the 11th house:
With Venus in the relocated eleventh house, you can widen your circle of acquaintances and find pleasure through groups, humanitarian activities, or community action. Satisfaction could come through new ideas or unusual perspectives, and you might meet a partner through a group, organization, friend, or chance encounter.

progressive views on love, good friends, easy contacts, free love; cultured, refined, sociable, easy-going, amenable, superficial, scatty, naive, indiscriminate.

Venus in the 12th house:
If you want to explore the world of beauty, enjoy meditation or other spiritual pursuits, or bring comfort to the less fortunate, Venus in the relocated twelfth house is a plus. You might meet someone special in an institution (hospital, prison), a sheltered place (ashram, monastery, church, temple), or a naturally beautiful location, or through activities that accent grace and imagination.

the longing for love, subjection to emotional and sexual influences, love of music and art; seducible, exploited, gentle, tender, indulgent, charitable, inspirational, compassionate, genial.
(Venus is exalted in the 12th house.)

Following are the Venus aspects to the Ascendant and Midheaven, listed with the source:

Venus conjunct Ascendant (Round Art):
physical beauty, luxurious environment, self-adornment, easy circumstance, good taste, vanity; mannered, charming, youthful, flattering, attractive, well-bred, courteous, good-natured.

Venus sextile, trine, or quintile Ascendant (Round Art):
diplomacy, love affairs, sociableness, artistic environment, sense of beauty, kindness; gentle, relaxed, hospitable, warm-hearted, attractive, tactful, even tempered.

Venus square or opposition Ascendant (Round Art):
a pleaure-seeking nature, tensions, attraction to unsavoury types, over-indulgence, wastefulness; extravagant, over-dressed, hypocritical, pretentious.

I should add here that with the Round Art, many of the things in the ‘negative’ aspects can be controlled, in terms of the “these are things to watch out for” that we can counter with our own will and awareness.

Venus conjunct Midheaven (Round Art):
work in music or art, rich love life, sincere affection, an open and generous nature, aestheticism, professional contacts with women; loving, artistic, humanitarian, creative.

Venus sextile, trine, or quintile Midheaven (Round Art):
harmonious nature, beauty and art, happy love life, felicitous contacts, true love, artistic profession; kind, gentle, affectionate, well-loved.

Venus square or opposition Midheaven (Round Art):
self-admiration, loss of friends and lovers, jealousy, conceit, superficiality, conflicts with women; vain, trivial, pleasure-loving, dissipated.

I’m going to save the Mapping Your Travels interpretation of Venus aspects to the Ascendant or Midheaven for a future date. It’s pretty lengthy, and you have a lot to work with here. Again, I’m always on the lookout for cool new interpretations of astrological placements.
